Here are some of the questions we've been asked this week:

Question: I have recently discovered a Facebook page created by students at the college in which I work, there are a number of derogatory comments left on the wall about lecturers at the college, including me. Is there anything I can do?

Answer: Thank you for contacting the online support service. From what you've said it sounds like you, along with others at your college, are being subjected to a form of cyberbullying.

The first thing to do is to speak to your college to see if they have a cyberbullying policy in place. There are guidelines issued by the DCSF called 'Cyberbullying: Supporting School Staff' .

You can also contact Facebook directly and request that the relevant content be removed as it is offensive and abusive. The following factsheets may also be helpful:

Question: I've been signed off work for two weeks with anxiety/stress. I'm worried about returning to work and how I'll cope - I can't see how it will be any different and I'm concerned that I'll need to take more time off. I don't know what to do next.

Answer: Thank you for contacting the online support service, it's a great first step to helping resolve the issues you are currently experiencing.

In your email you don't say if there's anything in particular that has caused you to feel anxious and stressed. I would encourage you to think if there's one particular incident, or a series of incidents that have contributed to these feelings. Once you've started to identify these any issues it's much easier to work towards resolving them and moving forward.

As you said you've been signed off work I can see that you've already been to see your GP. It may be worth re-visiting if you are also experiencing any physical symptoms such as sleepless nights - you can talk this through with your GP in confidence.

From what you've said I would also suggest that you talk directly to one of our trained advisors for some additional support. Someone is here to answer your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you can talk in confidence to them. Call us on 08000 32 99 52.
